Freedive Courses

Basic Freediver Course

Your first step into a quieter, beautiful underwater world.

The Basic Freediver course is designed for those who feel called to the ocean and want to experience breath-hold diving in a calm, supportive environment. This course introduces the foundations of freediving while emphasizing relaxation, awareness, and respect for the marine environment.

You’ll learn essential breathing techniques, body positioning, and efficient movement through the water while practicing static apnea and dynamic apnea in confined water. The focus is not on depth, but on connection — learning to slow down, listen to your body, and move through the water with intention.

This course is ideal for anyone curious about freediving, ocean lovers seeking a deeper connection, or those who want to build confidence before progressing to open water.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum Age: 12 years
  • Able to swim 200 metres continuously (any stroke)

  • Good physical health

Course Breakdown:

  • Complete PADI Basic Freediver eLearning

  • ½ day knowledge development session

  • 1 confined water (pool) session

Outcome:

A strong foundation in breath-hold diving, safety awareness, and a deeper appreciation for the underwater world.

Freediver Course

Dive deeper. Move silently. Become part of the ocean.

The Freediver course is where exploration truly begins. This certification teaches you how to freedive safely in open water while developing the skills needed to explore reefs and drop-offs with minimal impact on marine life.

You’ll train in advanced breathing and relaxation techniques, equalization methods, freediving safety and rescue procedures, and proper equipment use. Training includes static apnea, dynamic apnea, free immersion, and constant weight freediving, progressing to open water dives to a maximum depth of 16 metres / 55 feet.

Freediving offers a unique way to experience the ocean — moving quietly, observing marine life without bubbles or noise, and gaining a firsthand understanding of why these ecosystems are worth protecting. Many students leave this course with not only a certification, but a stronger sense of responsibility toward the ocean.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum Age: 12 years
  • Able to swim 200 metres continuously (any stroke)

  • Good physical health

Course Breakdown:

  • Complete PADI Freediver eLearning

  • ½ day knowledge development session

  • 1 pool session

  • 2 ocean sessions

Outcome:

Earn your freediver certification and gain the skills, confidence, and environmental awareness to explore the underwater world responsibly within your limits.

Advanced Freediver Course

Go deeper — with control, intention, and respect.

The Advanced Freediver course is for certified freedivers ready to expand their depth while refining technique and strengthening their connection to the ocean. This course focuses on efficiency, relaxation, and awareness — allowing depth to come naturally rather than through force.

You’ll refine equalization techniques, improve streamlining and finning efficiency, and develop greater mental control. Training continues in constant weight and free immersion freediving, with open water dives reaching a maximum depth of 24 metres / 80 feet.

As you dive deeper, your awareness deepens as well — of your breath, your body, and the fragile underwater environment around you. This course reinforces conservation-minded diving practices and encourages thoughtful, low-impact exploration of the ocean.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum Age: 15 years

  • PADI Freediver certification (or qualifying certification from another agency)

  • Good physical health

Course Breakdown:

  • Complete PADI Advanced Freediver eLearning

  • ½ day knowledge development review

  • 1 pool session (skills refinement and rescue review)

  • 2 ocean sessions

Outcome:

Expand your freediving abilities while developing confidence, precision, and a deeper respect for the underwater world.
